The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at BUET successfully hosted an engaging and thought-provoking event entitled “Freshers’ Reception & Workshop on Outcome Based E Education for 2023 Batch Students” on Sunday, September 22nd, at 3:00 PM. This gathering welcomed distinguished guests, faculty members, and the incoming EEE’23 batch. The primary goal of the program was to introduce our department and the newly incorporated Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum to the freshmen, showcasing our commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of our students. The event commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by one of the freshmen, Shah Paran, followed by a warm welcome address from the Head of the EEE Department, Professor Dr. A. B. M. Harun-Ur-Rashid. He emphasized the department's legacy of producing engineers who are not only technically proficient but also socially responsible. Next, Professor Dr. Mohammed Imamul Hassan Bhuiyan provided an insightful introduction to the Department of EEE, highlighting its contributions to research, industry collaboration, and technological advancements. His speech underscored the department’s mission to shape future leaders in electrical and electronic engineering. The event featured motivational speeches from student representatives, including Shahrim Al Farabi from the incoming EEE’23 batch and Md. Abu Obaida Ma-az from the senior EEE’2019 cohort. Their reflections on their journeys at BUET were both inspiring and relatable, resonating deeply with the attendees. Among the highlights was an address by BUET's Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. The Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. B. M. Badruzzaman, delivered a powerful speech on BUET’s commitment to fostering an environment of academic rigor and innovation, stressing the importance of cultivating extracurricular knowledge and maintaining mental health in a competitive environment. The program concluded with a workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), led by the Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) of the EEE Department. This session aimed to provide students with insights into the relevance of OBE in today’s globally recognized education system. The day wrapped up on a high note with refreshments and souvenirs, leaving participants inspired and energized.
